Six Shots to Vengeance Empty
PostSubject: Six Shots to Vengeance   Six Shots to Vengeance EmptyTue Jun 19, 2012 9:17 pm #1

1846, a year in the south west that was torn by war. However, war was not always seen as an entirely bad thing for all people. Some people thrived off of war, combat, and the like. These people are mercenaries; selling their guns to whoever had enough money to pay them for a job. One such man is William Chambers, a wealthy farmer in Iowa. Having lost his family to a former business partner in 1844, he has hired six mercenaries to hunt down and kill his former partner. He is currently holed up in Chihuahua, Mexico. He plans to send them southwest out of Iowa, through organized territory. Then on through Texas and over the Rio Grande into El Paso. They’ll be contacted by a man who will lead them to a fort. This is where they will find an informant that will help them capture their mark. Though they have never met, Mr. Chambers is confident in the mercenaries’ ability to complete this task. He is hiring them based solely off of their prior experiences and jobs that separate them from the rest of their peers.

Alright, so uh, here we go, as far as rules:

- This is set in 1846, during the Mexican War, so I expect you all to create characters according to the setting. Also, no fantasy-type things like magic.
- Well, uh. Other than that, I guess nothing, other than the whole standard RP rules and blah blah blah.

Name: Ashley Reed
Nickname: Red Viper
Age: 23
Appearance: shoulder-length brown hair under a black custom-tailored cowgirl hat. A dark red plaid blouse with jeans and tanned cowhide boots. Although not voluptuous, she is rather endowed and noticeably a woman.
Distinguishing Feature(s), if any: the cowgirl hat is adorned with blood-stained bullets from her encounters with her parents' murderers on the left side, coincidentally her weapon hand. She also has bright green eyes that only few who have seen her up close know are actually hazel.
Weapons: revolver with poison-laced bullets, due to the poison she must take care when reloading, slowing her rate of fire. The bullets are coated with a layer of poison much like nail polish, giving the bullets a glossy yet lethal exterior.
Backstory: living with her parents on a ranch out on the ranges of Kansas, Ashley was a happy little girl. Then one day a group of bandits raided the ranch, killing her parents and kidnapping the young girl. She was violated and then sold off as a prostitute to a local brothel and grew up there plotting her revenge. One of the other girls was also taken at a young age and helped Ashley to exact revenge, firstly she trained Ashley in venom mixing, from scorpions, to snakes, to spiders; the other girl being the one in charge of producing aphrodesiacs learned to mingle in other ingredients. At age fifteen, Ashley learned to wield a revolver, honing her skills over the years. At age nineteen, she heard the one of the bandits that killed her parents, raped her and sold her off was back in town. She found him and seduced him back to her room at the brothel, luckily for her he never recognized her. Before any action happened she popped a bullet in his skull and pried it out. After that day she disappeared, she has been hunting down those bandits one by one, taking up jobs and information along the way, and stopping any law who try catching her on account of murder. For now the only leads she has is that one of the last three is holed up in Texas, on passing through a town she finds a call for mercenaries to hunt someone down, the path, leading on through Texas.

NEW NOTE: Modifications to weapons are allowed in order to give the story a bit of a more over-the-top feel, but please also try to be historically accurate.

----------------------------------

Name: Sterling Strauss
Nickname: None
Age: 17
Appearance:
Spoiler:
Distinguishing Feature(s), if any: A scar on his left thigh. He likes to say that it came from a knife fight, but it was really just from fending off a coyote who was trying to kill his father's chickens.
Weapons: A hunting knife, Colt Revolver and a Mississippi Rifle.
Backstory: Sterling is the charismatic son of famed mercenary Lars "Silence" Strauss, who got his name after his preferred kill method, which was the throat slit. Sterling was trained by his father to know every survival and combat technique he knows, but is highly inexperienced, which leads to him feeling the need to prove his worth constantly. He is also known to brawl as soon as the opportunity arises, though this is because he is an excellent fist fighter himself. Lars was originally supposed to be one of the six mercenaries on the job, but died a week prior to the meet-up at Mr. Chambers' estate due to tuberculosis. Sterling sought to honor and protect his father's reputation by filling in for his late father. He ultimately feels that he'll be able to help lead the six mercenaries to completing their contract, even if his literacy isn't the best in the world, having taken a full fifteen minutes to read the two-page contract given to his father.
